KEY ENGLISH TEST (KET)
KET stands for "Key English Test". KET is a test that evaluates your ability to handle everyday spoken and written English at a basic level. The exam consists of three parts.

Advanced (CAE)
The Cambridge Certificate Of Advanced English Exam is designed to test at an advanced level of use of the English language. PROFICIENCY (CPE)
The CPE is the most advanced ESOL exam offered by Cambridge. The exam is designed for advanced mastery of the English language for professional or academic reasons. Before you consider taking the CPE, you need to make sure that you are qualified for the exam. You must be able to use the English language to communicate complicated issues. You must posses a strong enough vocabulary to understand nearly any written document in the English language, as well as effectively communicate complex ideas both verbally and in writing.
The CPE consists of 5 different sections. They consist of the following:

IELTS TEST
The IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is a month long program compromising of 28 courses related to the English language. The course is designed for students with intermediate to advanced language skills. The course consists of 28 lessons per week. Tests are offered several times per year and can be taken after completing the four week course.The IELTS is accepted by educational institutions world wide as a demonstration of competency in the English language. These countries include The United States, The United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and several other countries. It may be a required prerequisite before entering into certain courses that require understanding of the English language.
The work is divided into modules. For the reading and writing modules, students may choose between the "Academic Module" or the "General Training Module". The Academic Modules are designed to prepare students for academic study, while the General Training Modules offer a broader range of instruction for basic communication skills.Students will be graded on a Band Scale, with scores ranging from 1-9. Most universities require a score of 6.0 or higher, although students should check themselves before applying for acceptance.Results from the test are generally available within 2 weeks. Should a student fail, or receive a less than satisfactory score, they will not be allowed to take the test again for a period of 3 months.

TOEFL TEST

TOEIC TEST
The TOEIC test is designed to measure the level of profeciency in the use of the English language for international communications in business and other professional environments. The TOEIC isdivided into two individual tests. Listening and Reading, and Speaking and Writing. If you're taking the test for a job position, you'll need to ask your employer which test to take, many times you may be required to take both tests.The scoring system is different for each version of the test.
The TOEIC L&R test is divided into listening and reading, and the student is given a score from 5-495. This means that the total score ranges from 10-990. Acceptable scores will vary depending on your reasons for taking the test, so you'll need to contact your school or future employer in order to find out what their requirements are.
The TOEIC S&W test is broken up into 11 sections. The first 9 sections are given a score from 0-3, with the last two sections given a score of 0-5. The total combined scores are then assigned to a scale of 0-200. Again, you'll need to contact your school or employer to find out their minimum qualifying scores. |
